Energy Efficiency

Since 2009, LEAP’s home energy auditors have helped Virginian residents make their homes more energy-efficient, comfortable, and updated via weatherization methods. We also help homeowners identify rebates, apply for income and age qualifying programs, and connect them with contractors if we can’t take care of something in-house. The best way to get started is to submit our sign up form so we can help you find the clearest and most cost-effective path forward toward your energy efficiency goals.

  • Our assessments are thorough examinations of your house that will help you determine how to make your home more energy efficient. Technicians inspect your attic and crawl space, look over your appliances, and use special diagnostic tools including a blower door test and thermal infrared cameras. The purpose of the energy assessment is to look for ways to save you energy and money.

  • Depending on the size of the home, a home energy assessment can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours.

  • You can expect to receive a report with the results of your assessment within two weeks of receiving the assessment.

  • Once you are provided with your report, we’ll get you scheduled with us in order to make your home energy efficient!

  • No, you do not have to be present for the services.

  • We encourage you to go to our new Energy Resource Hub, or you may contact us at info@leap-va.org.
