Rebates for a LEAP Home Performance with ENERGY STAR job.

Yes, there are dollars out there to help you make the most cost effective energy improvements! However, not all improvements done by all contractors are created equal. At LEAP, we care about you getting the right work done, not just any work. We also care that those energy improvements are made to industry best practice standards. This is the LEAP Quality Assurance difference and the real reason why you should work with our program and one of our LEAP-certified Contractors.

The rebate example below is for a whole house energy efficiency retrofit in LEAP's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program. Please note that not all homes require such comprehensive energy performance improvements.

A  home performance retrofit could include air and duct sealing, adding insulation, and replacing your inefficient heat pump with a high efficiency new one. It can also decrease the energy use in your home by 20% or more for more comfort and savings!

By bundling LEAP's rebates, you could save up to $1250 on your job.

List of Available Rebates and Incentives

• Home Energy Assessment (energy audit) Rebate: $250 cash rebate to homeowners who participate in our Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program. *Rebate is available through LEAP for City of Charlottesville and County of Albemarle residents only.

• LEAP Home Energy Improvement Rebates: Rebate is based upon total job cost amount. 
  
  - Job costs < $3000, your cash rebate will be 20% off of the job
  - Job costs $3000 - $5000, your cash rebate is $600
  - Job cots $5000 - $7500, your cash rebate is $800
  - Job costs > $7500, your rebate is $1000

• Dominion Residential Lighting Rebate - available to Dominion customers for high efficiency CFL light bulbs purchased at Wal-mart and Sam's Club

• Charlottesville Gas Thermostat Rebate - $100 for installation of a programmable thermostat

• Charlottesville Gas Water Heater Rebate - $100 when replacing an electric water heater with a high efficiency gas one

Home Energy Assessment (energy audit) Rebate

It really pays to participate in LEAP's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program - in the form of a $250 cash rebate. To qualify for this rebate you must:

• Be enrolled in LEAP's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program (Easy! Create a home energy profile online and enroll and you're in.)

• Use a LEAP Participating Contractor who is BPI Building Analyst Certified to do the home performance assessment.

• Have your LEAP Participating Contractor send us a copy of your signed retrofit work contract. Rebate is available to homeowners in Charlottesville and Albemarle who are actually doing an energy retrofit. You don't have to wait until completion to be reimbursed, but we do need to see documentation that your project is in the works.

LEAP Home Energy Improvement Rebate - up to $1000

If you decide to undertake retrofit measures to achieve deeper energy savings, LEAP will help you reach that goal. The more you spend, the more you save.

To qualify for this incentive you must:

• Set up an online Home Energy Profile and enroll in LEAP's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.

• Use a LEAP Participating Contractor who is BPI Building Analyst Certified to do the Home Performance Assessment.

• Have your LEAP Participating Contractor send us a copy of your signed retrofit work contract, which will show how the measures you are doing will achieve the 20% or better efficiency gain outlined in your Home Performance Assessment report.

• Sign your Home Energy Improvement rebate application notifying LEAP that your job is finished.
