“Our experience with the Solarize program was outstanding. The contractor who did the installation was knowledgeable and professional. We are very happy to be helping the Earth (and ourselves) by making clean, free energy!” – Damian C., Solarize Fredericksburg 2015 client

Easy- Homeowners and businesses in Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties and the City of Fredericksburg can get started with a simple online application and take advantage of free or discounted energy efficiency consultations and a free solar site assessment.

Affordable- A key aspect of this grassroots effort is community participation. When community residents rally behind solar, local installers are able to offer lower prices to Solarize participants through bulk purchasing, reduced travel, and offset marketing costs. Average prices for residential solar installations dropped another 15%+ in 2015, and with Solarize prices are expected to be discounted another 15%+.

More Savings- In addition to Solarize Fredericksburg’s bulk purchasing discounts, LEAP will help participants access a 30% federal tax credit and navigate the Solar Renewable Energy Credit (SREC) market.

Smart- The Energy Information Administration projects a 2% annual rise in residential energy rates for the Mid-Atlantic. Solar customers regularly see an 8% or better return on investment.

Proven- Over the past two years LEAP’s Solarize campaigns across the Commonwealth have seen 200 and counting Virginia homeowners and businesses sign contracts for solar panels for their roofs.
