LEAP is Hiring! Seeking Solarize Program Manager.

Introduction

The Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) is a community nonprofit organization that facilitates the adoption of clean energy technology, primarily via energy-efficiency improvements in existing homes and buildings, as well as solar power community campaigns. Our primary activities are assessing buildings of all kinds, providing recommendations for efficiency improvements, coordinating access to contractors and utility and government rebates, and promoting solar power as applicable. LEAP’s Solarize program has helped hundreds of households throughout Virginia access solar for their homes. LEAP’s headquarter office is located near downtown Charlottesville.

Overview

LEAP seeks an established professional in the renewable energy sector – residential solar especially – to further develop its state-leading Solarize program.

This is an opportunity to work with installers and local governments throughout the state to execute residential solar “campaigns” – and to grow your career in this exciting field. You’ll directly engage residents, municipal staff, installers, and other partners to maximize the residential solar installations in the state. This position will be expected to be entrepreneurial by expanding a variety of elements of the existing program, including the technical scope, geography, and fundraising to support such expansion while managing the program’s P&L. If successful, a promotion to “Director” after one year would be expected, with potentially multiple staff joining the program based on financial success. This work will be done throughout the state, but the position can be based out of LEAP’s office in Charlottesville or in Northern Virginia. The position reports directly to LEAP’s Executive Director and would be expected to work independently.

LEAP is a collegial, fun place to do important work in a highly collaborative environment. We are engaged with our community and our world to bring the many benefits of energy efficiency and renewables to as many people as possible.
