Introduction
The Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP) is a community nonprofit organization that facilitates the adoption of clean energy technology, primarily via energy-efficiency improvements in existing homes and buildings, as well as solar power community campaigns. Our primary activities are assessing buildings of all kinds, providing recommendations for efficiency improvements, coordinating access to contractors and utility and government rebates, and promoting solar power as applicable. LEAP’s headquarter office is located near downtown Charlottesville, with a satellite office in Fairfax, and a new satellite office in RVA to open in early 2021.
Overview
LEAP seeks an established or quickly-rising star in building science and residential energy efficiency to serve our diverse clients with energy audits, diagnostic testing of homes, direct installation of basic energy-saving measures, and quality assurance inspections.
This is an opportunity to explore a wide variety of housing stock while helping members of the community save energy – and to grow your career in this exciting field. You’ll directly engage with building residents and owners, contractors, partner organization personnel, community leaders, and LEAP staff. This work will be focused in the Richmond area – with occasional travel to other areas of the Commonwealth.
LEAP is a collegial, fun place to do important work in a highly collaborative environment. We are engaged with our community and our world to bring the many benefits of energy efficiency and renewables to as many people as possible.
