The Local Energy Alliance Program – or LEAP – is giving one lucky family in Charlottesville the chance to make their home more energy-efficient, and of course lower some of their bills. Thousands of homeowners entered this contest hoping to make their homes more energy-friendly. Wednesday night, LEAP knocked on the winner’s door. Eiley Patterson and her family don’t have to worry about wasting cash anymore because of poor insulation in their home.
“It will be really nice to make our house comfortable since I stay home a fair bit and have two small children,” Patterson said.
The family is the winner of a $10,000 home makeover thanks to LEAP. The nonprofit paired up with the University of Virginia Community Credit Union for the PowerSaver Home Makeover Contest.
