Available Rebates, Incentives and Financing for Central Virginia Residents
90 Days of Summer Rebate
20% of project cost up to $450 for a qualifying energy efficiency improvement installed by a LEAP participating service provider. Qualifying improvements include but are not limited to a heating/cooling system replacement when upgrading to ENERGY STAR-rated equipment, or an insulation/air sealing job. After your installation, you will also receive a FREE Healthy and Efficient Home Evaluation performed by one of LEAP’s on-staff Building Analysts. Installation must occur prior to August 31, 2013. This is a cash rebate paid to the homeowner and is available to residents in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa, Greene, and Nelson.
LEAP Home Energy Improvement Rebate
20% of project cost up to $500 for Home Performance with ENERGY STAR. Rebate is based upon total job cost amount. This is a cash rebate paid to the homeowner and is available to Charlottesville, Albemarle Fluvanna, Louisa, Greene and Nelson.
To qualify for this incentive you must:
- Enroll in LEAP’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program.
- Use a LEAP Participating Building Analyst to assess where your home is losing energy and money and to create a plan for making improvements.
- Have a LEAP Participating Contractor install the improvements that will make your home at least 20% more efficient.
- Have your Building Analyst come back to verify the efficiency gain.
- Sign your Home Energy Improvement rebate application notifying LEAP that your job is finished.

PowerSaver Loan Program from UVA Community Credit Union
Learn more about this no closing cost, low-interest loan program. These loans provide a less expensive alternative to traditional financing for homeowners who live or work in the City of Charlottesville and the Counties of Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa, Madison, Nelson and Orange.
Dominion Home Programs
Dominion Virginia Power offers several energy efficiency rebate programs for all-electric homes (i.e. natural gas, propane or oil is not your primary heating fuel). These rebates are available through Dominion’s participating contractors.

Homeowner receives $40 for cycling A/C on high use days

Easy and low-cost audit with rebates for direct install measures

Rebate of $90 for maintenance tune-up of existing units

Rebate of $200 – $250 for upgrading to more efficient heat pump unit
¥ Duct Testing & Sealing - Homeowner receives $125 for having poorly performing duct & air distribution systems tested and repaired
Rappahannock Electric Cooperative Rebates
Rappahannock members are eligible for rebates which are for 25% of the project cost up to the maximum rebate amount. Rebates can be combined for a maximum total per household of $600.
