Did you know that an energy efficient home is a healthier home and that many energy improvements – i.e. air and duct sealing and proper ventilation – can improve your indoor air quality? This can mean lower health care costs for families whose homes act as a trigger for asthma, allergies, or other respiratory illnesses resulting from mold growing unseen in the home, low-level carbon monoxide back drafting, or gas leaks. The Environmental Protection Agency ranks indoor air quality as one of the top five environmental risks to public health. Indeed, the pollution inside your home is typically 2-5x worse than air outdoors.

This workshop will address the main problem areas in homes with regards to indoor air quality and how specific home energy improvements can provide solutions. We’ll share specific examples from local homes and invite participants to come with questions about your house.
