Cynthia Adams, MA, LEED AP, Executive Director

Ms. Adams oversees the development and implementation of LEAP’s operations and works to secure new funding through grants and business opportunities. She presents at conferences on the LEAP alliance program model, innovative marketing campaigns, and information technology to support program implementation and scale.

Ms. Adams actively promotes energy efficiency through her work around the state supporting other community-based energy efficiency organizations. She sits on the Governance Board of the state chapter of Efficiency First and on the Steering Committee for the Virginia Energy Efficiency Council. She is also a member of the Branch Governing Council for the Charlottesville Chapter of the James River Green Building Council.

Her past employment history includes Climate Protection Program Coordinator for the City of Charlottesville, and prior to that she co-founded a green construction company and sustainable design-build consulting/retail business.

Tim Leroux, MBA, Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations, Mr. Tim Leroux leads all internal operations and serves as the primary deputy to the Executive Director.  Although new to the Energy Efficiency industry, he has vast experience leading diverse organizations and solving complex problems.  He assists the Executive Director with strategic planning and has primary responsibility for initiatives relating to LEAP’s transformation to a market-based business model.

Mr. Leroux has a Bachelor’s degree from Xavier University, an MBA from Embry-Riddle, and is a two-tour veteran of the Iraq war.  Most recently, he was a professor and departmental chair at the University of Virginia where he taught courses in leadership and military history.

Lesley Fore, Key Accounts Manager

Ms. Fore joined LEAP in November, 2010 and manages client and contractor relations for all of the regions LEAP serves. Ms. Fore is also responsible for collecting and reporting all of the retrofit data that LEAP collects, which is used by local, state, and federal partners to measure the impact of the energy efficiency industry.

With more than 20 years of nonprofit and customer relations experience, Ms. Fore has worked with organizations such as the GreenBlue Institute, the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. Ms. Fore has remodeled/renovated many older homes, including three properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. She received a B.A. from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.

 

Annie Suttle, MA, Marketing and Outreach Manager

As part-time Marketing and Outreach Manager, Ms. Suttle oversees LEAP’s communications initiatives including the website, enewsletters, social media, advertising and media and community outreach. She has more than 10 years’ communications experience in the nonprofit and energy/environment fields.

Guy Caroselli, BPI BA, Senior Technical Advisor and Trainer

Mr. Caroselli joins LEAP from a long career in home performance in New York state. He served as Director of Broome County’s Weatherization Assistance Program and prior to that worked as a home performance contractor for over 20 years.

Mr. Caroselli is responsible for advising on LEAP’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program, and he works closely with participating contractors and residential participants to mentor contractors, facilitate the process, and perform quality assurance. He is also responsible for providing training to our utility partners on basic building science and for managing our Weatherization Innovation Pilot Program grant.

Michael Hogan, BPI BA, Residential Energy Services Manager (northern Virginia)

Mr. Hogan joins LEAP with 27 years in the construction industry in residential and commercial construction and residential renovations. Michael has worked with several nonprofit organizations to help better people’s lives through providing better living conditions. Michael’s passion for customer service has helped propel him throughout his career. Since his introduction to home performance he feels he has finally learned the correct way to make a home comfortable and safe. He holds certifications as a Building Analyst Professional, Envelope Professional, Heating Professional and A/C and Heat Pump Professional.

Laura Fiori, BPI BA, LEED AP, Residential Energy Manager
(central Virginia)

Ms. Fiori has spent two years working in LEAP’s Home Performance with ENERGY STAR program where she completed hundreds of energy audits and won awards for customer service. We are very pleased to have her on staff as she brings practical know-how with an entrepreneurial spirit to assisting us in developing and promoting this program. Ms. Fiori has spent years working the in green construction field before specializing in home performance.

Barabara Englehart, Business Development and Outreach Manager (northern Virginia)

Barbara Englehart is the business development and outreach manager for LEAP in the Northern Virginia region.  She has the responsibility to build and foster collaborative relationships with local governments, network contractors, financial institutions, civic organizations, local businesses, NGOs, utilities, and homeowners to facilitate and promote the building of healthier, more comfortable and higher performing space in Northern Virginia.

Prior to joining LEAP, Barbara worked as an independent business sustainability consultant helping organizations reduce their negative impacts to the environment and human health.  She created a model which guides businesses on the use of energy, water, materials, and toxic control to implement solutions that are good for the planet and good for the bottom line.   Prior to her work in business sustainability, Barbara worked at MCI and Verizon where she was the director of Product Marketing for Global Voice over the Internet. Early in her career, she worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. as a certified public accountant. She has a bachelors degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a masters degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.  She lives in Arlington with her husband and two children.

Teri Kent, Commercial Program Outreach Coordinator (central Virginia)

Ms. Kent helps LEAP spread the energy efficiency message to the non-residential sector including businesses, school, non-profits, community buildings, and faith-based organizations.  She has been working in the environmental/education field for more than 10 years.  She served on the LCAPP (Local Climate Action Protection Plan) community outreach committee and served on the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority Citizen’s Action Committee for Recycling. She speaks widely at City, County, University and community events on incorporating sustainability into daily living.  In 2011-2012 she was the project manager for the first Charlottesville Area Better Business Challenge.  She has regular media appearances, including a community radio show (the Betty show on 1061 the Corner), and writes monthly columns for Cville Weekly’s Abode magazine andCharlottesville Family.

Tom Cassidy, Commercial Energy Program Manager
(central Virginia)

Mr. Cassidy began working with LEAP in September 2011 while working on the Charlottesville area Better Business Challenge.  He has responsibility for managing LEAP’s commercial building energy efficiency rebate program.  This program involves benchmarking building energy usage to educate local businesses and building owners on how efficiently they are operating.

Mr. Cassidy has a background in real estate development and energy finance.   Previously he was a project manager for a non-profit real estate developer where he specialized in historic tax credit financing.  More recently, he was with the District of Columbia’s Department of the Environment helping them start a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program.   Mr. Cassidy is a LEED Accredited Professional with a civil engineering degree from the University of Virginia and master’s degrees in business administration and regional planning from the University of North Carolina.
